FlagState publishes free tools and guides for non-US founders considering a US LLC. Compare state costs, check the questions that apply to your country, and organize the steps before paying to form.

FlagState is an independent publication. It is not a government agency, law firm, accounting firm or formation service. The guides provide general information; they do not determine your legal position, tax treatment or eligibility for a financial account.

Costs and source confidence

State fee figures come from one dated ledger. Each entry identifies its source, verification date and confidence level. A verified entry has direct official-source support. A sourced entry has lower confidence, including evidence obtained indirectly. Pending entries are withheld from cost calculations.

Ledger status: 33 verified, 18 sourced, 0 pending. Most recent fee check: 2026-10-05.

Read the date and notes for the state you are comparing. The latest check of one entry does not mean every state was checked that day. Themethodology explains the labels and calculations.

The True Cost Worksheet models listed state costs over your selected period. Read its exclusions and state-specific qualifications. An optional registered-agent estimate is a budgeting assumption, not a provider quote or a state fee.

Affiliate commissions

FlagState may earn a commission when you make a qualifying purchase through an affiliate link. The disclosure appears before those links. Affiliate relationships help fund the publication and influence which paid services are featured.

The state-fee model uses ledger entries and calculation rules, not commission rates. A referral does not establish that a provider is right for your circumstances. Check the work included, renewal charges, cancellation terms and eligibility before buying. Paid filing help is a choice; confirm the relevant state's requirements if you prefer to file yourself.

Corrections and contact

Report a possible error to hello@flagstatehq.com. Include the page, the statement or figure, and the official source or provider policy you believe applies.

When a fee correction is verified, the ledger entry and its verification date are updated. An article's revision date records an editorial change; it does not mean every underlying source was rechecked. Read the corrections recordfor documented changes.
